Summer is here, and winter bulges need to get some attention now. Is quick and healthy weight loss possible? At the root of weight gain lies enzyme nutrition – the most vital nutritional discovery of the century. Enzymes are the life force that does the actual work with the pile of lifeless chemical substances: vitamins, minerals, water and amino acids. Eating mostly cooked food and animal protein means we need to produce large amounts of digestive enzymes. The result is less energy available to make metabolic enzymes – the ones that help us against infections and help with weight loss. Cooking destroys the natural food enzymes, According to “Enzyme Nutrition” by Edward Howell, by eating too much cooked food, certain organs (pancreas, liver) may swell, and the brain can actually shrink on a refined and all cooked diet. It takes 2-4 hours for cooked food (vegetables and starch) and a three quarters of an hour for raw food to digest. Eating raw food (fruit, fresh juice extracts, vegetables, salads, sprouted grains/nuts and tofu) means the plate of food can be bigger and more metabolic enzymes are available to facilitate sugar regulation, weight loss and optimal health. For fast and healthy weight loss try this for the next three weeks: 3 glasses of water six times per day – 1 hour before meals. (See recipes for raw food/ juice and vegetarian meals in the two books below). Day 1-3: Fruit only for breakfast (papaya, banana, mango) – a dessert bowl. Freshly extracted carrot, beetroot, apple, spinach, and pineapple juices in-between meals (2 per day) Salad with tofu, or raw peeled mushrooms and avocado for lunch and dinner. From day 4: Add vegetables, a gluten-free starch such as brown rice, potato, corn of sweet potato with lentils/peas/beans as protein (for dinner only). Candida yeast imbalances in the intestines, and parasites, are metabolic blockers, so while changing the diet, detoxify properly by taking herbs (Micro-sweep) that cleanse the intestines from these and add the friendly flora again(AB-lactics). Choose a good enzyme supplement (ZoëTrim) if you need to eat more starch or protein per meal. Have less or no animal protein (fish, meat, chicken, eggs, cheese), for these take 4-24 hours to digest!
